While it may not initially sound like every individuals idea of a good time, watching a few US supreme court videos from time to time could be a highly enlightening and educational experience. While the approval ratings for Congress are regularly terrible and those for the president are always in flux, the Supreme Court is one of the few that enjoys regular approval from the American public. With some of the more recent rulings that people could see on a supreme court video, it is not hard to see why.
Over the past few weeks, the U.S. Supreme Court has dropped some bombshell rulings. Most notably was their decision to strike down Prop 8 in California, as well as the Defense of Marriage Act. Many believe that these two rulings have given rise to a new chance for equality in marriage across the country.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the senior liberal justice on the high court, announced recently that she would resist any pressure to retire. Ginsburg was nominated to the nations highest court in 1993 by President Bill Clinton. Now at 80 years old, she has said she plans to stay on the bench for another few years at the least. Ginsburg is just one of the many formidable presences on the court.
While most people tend to focus on the executive or legislative branches of government, few people pay as much attention to the Supreme Court. Each of the courts nine members are appointed for life, although they do have the option to step down. When a seat becomes vacant, the sitting president nominates someone new, who then goes through a confirmation process.
Viewing a supreme court video could give one new insight into how things work in their government. When laws are deemed unconstitutional, they can be struck down. Other controversial laws, such as the Affordable Care Act, are upheld. Throughout the history of the United States, the Supreme Court has often shown itself to be the sole voice willing to do the right thing. From voting rights and racial equality to marriage and individual freedoms, there is nothing this court has not tackled.
